Split System Functionality Similar but Far Superior
Mini split systems function in much the same way as a traditional HVAC system with the exception of ducts and central air. An outside compressor pumps and cools or heats the air through copper lines to the indoor unit(s). The fans in the indoor unit(s) then distributes the air into the room. The indoor units also pull the warm or cool air out of the room into the unit and remove it with the condensation. This feature keeps the rooms even cooler or warmer making the system more efficient.
Outside Unit The outdoor unit will only house the compressor and condenser for operation.
Flexible Solution Ductless mini split systems allow you to choose how many indoor units you want. You can select the zones and where to install. The units are fairly small making the installation more about mounting and electricity. These systems can be installed anywhere from extra rooms, construction sites, basements, etc.
Healthier The air quality in your home will be much healthier with this type of system. The ability to bypass using air ducts is a big plus in reducing contaminants in your home. Plus, you greatly reduce your chance of carbon dioxide. This feature is an Energy Star efficiency solution that is safer for you and your home.
Easy Install Ductless mini split systems are easy to install and are much less work than general HVAC systems. Most systems can be installed in under a day unless there multiple indoor units. Some multiple units need more time than others. You can install these systems in older homes as well because the systems only require a three-inch hole for pipe connection. No need to worry about damage to your home.
